TLC Membership
Requirements for becoming a member:
1. Character must have 85 magery, 40 intelligence and have guildmaster approved skills/stats. Some hiding and/or tracking (20.1 skill) is also encouraged.
2. The character must have access to room to place his/her loot. The minimum required space is access to 3 secured chests per person and there may be no more than three characters sharing the same structure as a loot house
3. The character must have a full copy of the guild's pk'ing runebooks. More details are in the private section.
* Note requirements #1-3 must be fulfilled by ex-TLC members before they are allowed on the stone. Unless the person is a fully prepared fighter ready to begin pk'ing they won't be allowed on the stone.
4. There will usually be some time period when the prospect will travel with the group and learn the procedures before they will be added to the stone. The length of this period will vary with the guild's familiarity with the individual, the amount of PvP experience, and how active the prospect is with the guild.
When all the above requirement have been met the member will be given the title "Virgin".
Veteran member requirements
When a Virgin completes the following requirements they will be promoted and allowed to pick the title of their choice (They achieve Self-titled status).
1. Character requirement: Must achieve GM resist (note some templates MAY be allowed to skip this requirement). Note the guild will help in this endeavor. Changes in the skill system may alter this requirement, but under the current code GM'ing resist in a couple of weeks is not a difficult task.
2. Solo skill requirement: Must beat 2 self-titled members (or 1 self-titled's and Jamie if he isn't self titled yet) in a 1v1, best of 5, mage vs. mage duel (held on test center. If the member's ping to TC is bad we'll figure something else out). Rules are no para, no drain, no potions, no running/hiding/summoning/magic items/etc, and only the 5 mage skills GM'ed. There is no limit on the # of best of five matches the Virgin can attempt (5 official matches per day tops though. After losing that many it's time to re-think your strategies for another day). Once they've won a best of five match against their 2 different opponents this requirement is accomplished.
3. Team skill requirement: Win a best of five 2v2 match against 2 self-titled members with another Virgin as a partner on test center. Rules are same as above except 10 heal and 10 cure potions are allowed for each fight of the match. When the 2 virgins win their match they both get credit for this requirement. There is no limit on attempted matches. One day a week will be scheduled for achieving these requirements (Saturday) although any other day is fine if it can be set up.
Requirements for continued Membership:
1. Horse killing is not allowed. Revenge or payback for the slaying of your own horse or perceived "twinkish" behavior by opponents is not an acceptable argument for a horse killing as some people use this justification far too frequently. The horse-killing rule may be lifted for specific guilds or individuals, but otherwise it is expected to be followed under ALL circumstances. Note the killing of dragons/wyrms/mares and other combat pets is acceptable and encouraged.
2. No in-game arguing or smack-talking with opponents. Once again, enemies' rude behavior is not an acceptable justification for breaking this rule. However teasing, flirting, the pinching of buttocks, and giving "come hither" looks to angry enemies in the midst of a hissy fit is perfectly acceptable.
3. No out-of-game arguing or smack-talking with opponents using your TLC char name or initials. Any posting on boards is seen as a reflection on the other members of the guild. You can act like a goofy nut-ball all you wish, but don't get involved in flame wars or peeing contests. Even when won they decrease the respectability of the guild. If you feel you must defend the guild from some allegation, respond in a mature, non-confrontational manner.
4. No unjustified res-killing. Unless loot or the safety of the group is threatened there is to be NO res-killing. A particularly foul-mouthed victim can be dropped as well from time to time, but this should not become regular practice.
5. Regular adherence to all TLC rules/routines.
6. Displayed respect for other friends/members of TLC.
7. On all runs TLC are required to use horses.
8. "Virgins" are expected to work to achieve self-titled status in a reasonable amount of time.
If a couple months have passed under Virgin status with no attempts to start advancing the member may be removed from the stone.
Removing a member
1. If for some reason a situation arises in which a member/guildmaster feels that a member should be kicked out they may ask for a vote. All self-titled members/guildmasters (except the member on trial) will be allowed one vote and if the person in question doesn't receive a 2/3's majority that they should stay, they will be removed from the guild.
2. The guildmaster may remove a member if the Requirements for continued membership are not being followed.
Levels of membership
1. Guildmaster/self-titled members - Can vote on certain guild matters like giving people the boot. They will also assume leadership positions during raids or other combat situations.
2. Virgins - Individuals that have fulfilled all requirements for becoming a member. They may be asked to take on leadership/training duties with prospects and should be prepared to take on leadership duties if self-titled members are not available or incapacitated (drunk).
3. Prospects/friends - Prospects will follow the lead of any veteran or new TLC members as their job is to get comfortable with their teammates and TLC procedures. Invited friends of members that are not interested in joining permanently are expected to adhere as closely to TLC policy as they are able while on TLC controlled runs. If they are unwilling to work with the group they will not be asked back. Members of other guilds during joint-guild missions will not be held to this standard, although consistent stupidity on their part will most likely lead to TLC disassociation with their guild.
